VEDANTHANGAL BIRD SANCTUARY : |

It is spread over 72 acres of marshy land with trees ideal for nesting are home to many species of water birds. Vedanthangal is one of the largest bird sanctuaries in India. The best season to visit here is from November to January. The bird life here are Cormorants, Darters, Herons, Egrets, Open billed Stork, Spoonbill etc. The migrating birds come from far-off lands like Siberia, Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka for nesting and breeding. The best time to visit the Sanctuary is during the early mornings or late evenings when you can see more birds. |
